What we do

Fast, effective drain unblocking

Whether it's a single blocked toilet or a commercial drain that keeps backing up, we clear the blockage, check the drain is running freely and tell you if there's anything else you need to know.

Drain Unblocking

Blocked toilets, sinks, gullies, outside drains and manholes cleared with the right equipment for the job, from rods to high pressure jetting.

Jetting & High Pressure Cleaning

High pressure water jetting cuts through fat, scale, silt and debris, cleaning the inside of the pipe back to full flow rather than just punching a hole through the blockage.

Planned Maintenance

Scheduled drain cleaning for commercial premises, landlords and managed properties, keeping drains clear before problems start.

Emergency call-outs

Blocked drain that can't wait?

An overflowing manhole, a toilet that won't flush or waste water backing up into the house needs sorting quickly. Call 0800 246 5109 and we'll arrange to get to you as soon as we can, including out of hours.

Signs of a blocked drain

How to tell your drain is blocked

  • Water draining slowly from sinks, baths or showers.
  • Toilets that fill up high or don't flush away properly.
  • Gurgling sounds from plugholes or toilets.
  • Bad smells around drains, gullies or manholes.
  • Water pooling around an outside gully or drain cover.
  • A manhole that's full or overflowing.

What causes blockages

Common causes of blocked drains

Fat, Oil & Grease

Poured down the sink as a liquid, fat cools and hardens inside the pipe, catching everything that follows. It's one of the most common causes in kitchens and food businesses.

Wipes & Sanitary Products

Wet wipes, including ones labelled flushable, don't break down like toilet paper. They snag in the pipe and build up into a solid blockage.

Leaves, Silt & Debris

Outside gullies and surface water drains collect leaves, soil and grit, especially in autumn and after heavy rain.

Tree Roots & Damaged Pipes

Roots can grow into joints and cracks, and a broken or displaced pipe catches debris. If a drain keeps blocking, damage is often the cause.

Commercial drain maintenance

Keep your business running

A blocked drain can close a kitchen, a toilet block or a whole site. We clear commercial blockages quickly and offer planned maintenance visits to jet and check drains on a regular schedule, so problems are dealt with before they disrupt trading.

We work with restaurants, cafés, shops, offices, industrial units, landlords and managing agents across Essex.

Keeps blocking?

When a blockage points to a bigger problem

If your drain blocks again soon after being cleared, there's usually a reason, such as a cracked pipe, a displaced joint or roots getting in. A CCTV drain survey will show the cause, and in many cases it can be fixed by relining the pipe without digging.

Blocked Drain Questions

Do you offer emergency drain unblocking?

expand_circle_down

Yes. Call 07458 393 332 for a blocked or overflowing drain and we'll arrange to get to you as soon as we can, including out of hours.

What's the difference between rodding and jetting?

expand_circle_down

Rodding pushes through a blockage to get water flowing again. Jetting uses high pressure water to break up the blockage and clean the inside of the pipe, removing fat, scale and debris that would otherwise cause the next blockage.

Why does my drain keep blocking?

expand_circle_down

Repeat blockages usually mean something is catching debris in the pipe, such as a crack, a displaced joint, roots or a build-up of fat. A CCTV drain survey will show the cause so it can be fixed properly.

Is a blocked drain my responsibility?

expand_circle_down

As a general rule, a drain that serves only your property and sits within your boundary is your responsibility. Shared drains and public sewers are usually the water company's, which in most of Essex is Anglian Water. If you're not sure where the blockage is, we can find out.

Do you work on commercial properties?

expand_circle_down

Yes. We clear blockages and provide planned drain maintenance for restaurants, shops, offices, industrial units, landlords and managing agents.

Are wet wipes safe to flush?

expand_circle_down

No. Even wipes labelled flushable don't break down like toilet paper and are a common cause of blocked drains. Put them in the bin.

What areas do you cover?

We're based in Benfleet and work anywhere in Essex.
